After playing the three Grand Slam tournaments this year, Djokovic is yet to win a major title in 2024. He reached the finals of the Wimbledon Championships but went down fighting against Alcaraz. The US Open presents Djokovic one final opportunity to put his hands on a major trophy this season and he has a big advantage going into the final Grand Slam event of the year.
After Alcaraz’s Wimbledon victory, he has struggled with an inconsistent run of form. While he lost against Djokovic in the Paris Olympics final, the Spaniard suffered a shock defeat against Gael Monfils in the second round of the ongoing Cincinnati Masters. On the other hand, Sinner isn’t in the best physical shape lately. He missed the Olympics due to illness and went down fighting in the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open.
