Anthony Joshua was reason Tyson Fury didn’t sign with Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn admits his deep relationship with Anthony Joshua was a major factor in his decision not to sign Tyson Fury.
The two Brits have been among the most dominant forces in the heavyweight division for the best part of a decade. Never have they faced off, but they’ve held numerous belts and laid claim to being the best in the business, backed by their respective promoters.
Hearn has been in Joshua’s corner since day one with Fury being flanked by Frank Warren, who oversaw his return to the pinnacle of the sport after several years away. Hearn admits his relationship with Joshua has gone deeper as the years have gone on and he wouldn’t want to put any strain on that by also having Fury in his camp.
He told GRM Daily: “For me, you get to a point where you want to have relationships and journeys – you want to make money – but the journey I’ve been on with AJ, we’ll never forget, and I don’t want to fall out with him because I signed Tyson Fury.
The one thing about my relationship with AJ is it’s real. We’re honest with each other, we’re on a level with each other, we’d never lie to each other. It only takes one line at a presser when I’m up there with Tyson Fury and I go ‘this guy’s the best heavyweight in the world ‘ and then he’s like ‘what?’ That can all change
