The 2024 Cincinnati Open is set to have a blockbuster finish as Jannik Sinner, the top seed, is slated to face off against local favorite Frances Tiafoe for the title. This will be the fifth tournament final for Sinner in 2024, with the Italian winning all the previous four finals, which saw rise to the top of the ATP rankings earlier this year.
Sinner was the top seed at the Cincinnati Open and received a bye in the opening round. He secured a straight-set win over Alex Michelsen in the second round and won via walkover in the third round after Jordan Thompson forfeited the encounter.
Sinner faced off against sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev in the quarter-final and won the match after dropping the first set. In the semi-final match, Sinner played a three-hour marathon to overcome third-seeded Alexander Zverev in three highly competitive sets.
