Chargers Star Justin Herbert Takes Positive Step In Injury Recovery

The Los Angeles Chargers got concerning news when superstar quarterback Justin Herbert was ruled out for the preseason due to plantar fascia in his right foot.

The expectation was that he would be ready for Week 1 of the 2024 season, so it wasn’t a massive loss for LA. Now, the Chargers signal-caller has taken a huge step forward in his injury recovery.

On Thursday, he was spotted working out without a boot, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

“Justin Herbert is out of the walking boot today while working in the weight room with Ben Herbert during practice,” Popper wrote on X.

Herbert had been wearing the protective boot since he was diagnosed with the injury at the beginning of August.

This is certainly a big development for the Chargers and Herbert, who is trying to be fully ready to go for the season opener against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Herbert dealt with injuries in 2023, playing just 13 games, the lowest of his career.
