Tyson Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, has not ruled out the possibility of changes to the former WBC heavyweight champion’s corner team ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury and Usyk went head-to-head for the undisputed heavyweight title back in May in what was a thrilling contest, and it ended in Usyk walking away with all four heavyweight titles on a split decision.
As expected, the two fighters will meet in a rematch which is scheduled for December 21 with Fury looking to get revenge.
In the aftermath of the first fight, Fury’s corner received criticism, in particular his father John Fury, who was very vocal in between rounds despite SugarHill Steward being the head trainer.
Since then there have been calls for Fury to make changes to his training team and Brown gave the following response when asked about the state of his fighter’s team ahead of what will be a huge rematch.
“Tyson is a very loyal man; he would not have picked those people in the first place if he didn’t think they were up to the job,” Brown told The Stomping Ground.
“He might change things a little bit around, I don’t know.
“He’s a very loyal man and never kicks people when they are down.
“If he chooses to move something around a little bit, he will, he’s the boss, he’s the number one.”
