British tennis gem Emma Raducanu may not be competing for prize money at present – but that doesn’t mean the 20-year-old isn’t still raking it in on the sidelines.
The 2021 US Open champion missed this year’s French Open and won’t compete at Wimbledon after undergoing minor surgery on both hands and her left ankle. And she’s using her time away from the court to teach others about the sport – reportedly charging up to $2,000 (£1,600) a pop for the pleasure.
After promoting subscription service AirWayz as a means of communicating with her, Raducanu has made herself even more available to those who can afford the time. Fans can sign up for a £4 monthly fee to get extra insight into Raducanu’s life, scaling all the way up to private video tutoring from the prospect.
However, the Telegraph report Raducanu won’t be banking any funds from the venture herself, with ‘all proceeds donated to the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) Youth Programme’.
