John Fury Says There Is ‘Only One Fight Out There’ For Tyson Now

John Fury, the father of WBC champion, Tyson, has given his opinion on who his son should be fighting next.

This week Fury’s UK promoter, Frank Warren, said finding a summer opponent for Tyson was becoming problematic with suitable options hard to find given various circumstances in the division.

The two frontrunners were Zhilei Zhang and Andy Ruiz Jr. Zhang is now tied up after Joe Joyce activated his contractual rematch clause, and Andy Ruiz Jr has been ruled out due to ‘financial demands’.

With stablemate and WBA regular champion, Daniel Dubois looking set to face Oleksandr Usyk next as the Ukrainian starts to fulfil his mandatories, it’s hard for fans to see who Tyson could step in the ring with.

John was present with one of his other son’s, Tommy, at the KSI Misfits fight, with a clash between the two looking likely to be next for ‘TNT’, after his win over Jake Paul.

During a media scrum, John was asked by Boxing King Media ‘what’s next for Tyson?’ and he made it clear there is only one man ‘The Gypsy King’ should be facing

It’s up to Tyson what he wants to do, there’s only one fight out there for him, it’s got to be the rabbit from the Ukraine, Usyk, but he ran off to Saudi Arabia for a few more quid.”

Fury looked all set to face Usyk last month after a 70/30 split was agreed between the pair, but disagreements over rematch financials finally caused the fraught negotiations to collapse.
