Jannik Sinner is proving to be one of the best tennis players in the world in 2023 thanks to several prestigious results obtained in the first tournaments played on the ATPTour. The Italian tennis player is trying to quickly overcome the disappointment of the bad defeat in Monte-Carlo against Holger Rune, who managed to win right in the final.
The setback represented another missed opportunity to win the first Master 1000 title but it did not cancel out the good things the blue has done in recent months. Sinner is third in the Race
The talented 21-year-old overtook the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in this last week, becoming number three in the Race classification with a view to qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals at the PalaAlpitour in Turin.
After the quarterfinals in Adelaide and the round of 16 at the Australian Open, Sinner changed gears further on hard courts by winning the ATP 250 trophy in Montpellier and the ATP 500 final in Rotterdam. In the American tour, other important results: in Indian Wells he pushed himself to the semifinals, while at the Miami Open he stopped only in the final act against Daniil Medvedev.
On clay, performance has not dropped at all and Sinner has in fact reached the semifinals at the Master 1000 in Monte-Carlo. Now the Italian will have to confirm himself in Barcelona, where he will start as the fourth seed in the main draw.
In the second round he could find the Argentine Diego Schwartzman, who he has already faced in the Principality of Monaco. Sinner will be among the most awaited tennis stars also in Madrid, Rome and, of course, at the Roland Garros 2023.
