It was only a few years ago that the NFL world was introduced to Justin Herbert as the kid out of Oregon that the Chargers were giving a shot in his second professional game to start at quarterback. Fast forward to today and he is one of the brightest one young stars in the game.
Few have been able to connect and win over the fans the way that Herbert has. Before him, they only knew Philip Rivers for some time and it was clear that he would have to take care of business if he wanted that same love. He’s already broken league records for yards thrown and touchdowns recorded at his position in his first three seasons and he took LA to the playoffs in 2022.
Herbert obviously wants more and his eyes are set on two things: taking the division from the Kansas City Chiefs and securing a long-term extension with the Bolts. However, he has used this offseason to continue competing but this time in a much different environment than SoFi Stadium.
The star quarterback, along with other NFL peers, touched down in Miami for the Sports Fishing Championship known as ‘The Catch.’ When this event was first announced a couple of months ago, Herbert was immediately listed as a favorite to participate due to his known-love for fishing.
Herbert had a pretty successful day and captured numerous kinds of fish. He reflected on his performance overall and says he would love to take part in it again.
