Iga Świątek joins Federer’s sportswear brand On

Iga Świątek, current women’s tennis world number one, has signed a partnership deal with Roger Federer co-owned On, the Polish player revealed in a social media post on Monday.
“I’m very excited to be the first female player to join with On,” Świątek said in a statement on the On website.
The Swiss company also announced that they are also partnering with 20-year-old US player Ben Shelton who made a name for himself by reaching the Australian Open quarterfinals in January on his first time outside the United States.
Both Iga and Ben will be sporting On apparel and footwear ahead of the Miami Open. Iga previously competed wearing Japanese brand Asics and made her way to the top of women’s tennis and won three major titles wearing Asics apparel and footwear.
“I’m thrilled to announce I am the first female tennis athlete at On. I’m happy the On team believes in me as an athlete and a person. We plan to grow, develop and make an impact together,” Świątek said in a statement on Instagram.
“And what’s more exciting… we started to work on my shoes which are crucial in my job and will complement my style of play, giving me everything I need on court. As the process of designing unique shoes takes time, you’ll see me in On shoes later during the year. And when you do… it’s gonna be huge,” she added in the Instagram post.
“Iga and Ben represent the next generation of world-class talent. Both players demonstrate On’s competitive spirit and embody current and future champions of the sport. We are pleased to welcome them to the On family,” Federer said in the On statement.
In 2019, Federer who retired last year with 20 Grand Slam titles, invested in On and designed its first pair of tennis shoes.
